QT HOTEL
SKY SIGNAGE
After having formed an excellent relationship with the client and builder during the execution of the digital wallpaper and wayfinding signage for QT Hotel, Artcom Fabrication was awarded the contract for the sky signage. A particular challenge was fabricating the two signs in such a way that they could be transported in the goods lift and then assembled into their full 3.6m high glory on the roof, without compromising on having the result be a seamless looking sign with flawless halo illumination.
DIGITALLY PRINTED WALL GRAPHICS
The artwork for QT Hotel Perth (designed by AGDA’s 2017 Studio of the Year, Studio Ongarato), was unlike anything the team at Artcom Fabrication had ever seen before in this kind of application. Mixing of digital materials in ground-breaking ways had unbelievable results in terms of texture, illumination, dimension and scale. Artcom’s team worked tirelessly from the beginning to present a range of materials that would do justice to the artwork and bring it into the physical form without compromising on the designers’ intentions. Other trades had to be closely coordinated with to ensure the finish was perfect, and the production and installation executed with a high level of efficiency to ensure other trades were not delayed. We were honoured to be awarded Gold at the 2018 ASGA & SGIAA Awards in the Digital Printing category for the works, and we strongly suggest a visit to QT Perth to see the amazing designs in person!
WAYFINDING SIGNAGE
Again working with the designs of Studio Ongarato, Artcom Fabrication produced every single element of the internal wayfinding signage in-house, thanks to our vast portfolio of in-house cutting and fabrication capabilities. Each piece was hand-finished and installed to the designer’s specifications, and included waterjet cut brass signage, engraved signage, fully custom-made aluminium braille signage, and all statutory wayfinding and fire safety signage made to Australian standards.
